Unique cruise in open boat
Sail through the historic 16th century canals of Medemblik. Via the Overlekerkanaal – the connection between the Wieringermeer and the Ijsselmeer – you will pass the Westersluis. The Westersluis takes care of the different water levels and that you can effortlessly sail between them. After this you will sail towards the Kleine Vliet. You will hear the story of the “De Vier Noorder Koggen” where the Steam Machine Museum is located with a working steam pumping station from 1869.
Finally, via the Vlietstroom you will pass a former navy building “landswerf” from 1799, which Napoleon once visited!
